The Fraxel laser uses two wavelengths to treat different skin problems. One wavelength safely resurfaces your skin from the inside out.
The laser doesn’t remove a layer of skin like other resurfacing treatments. Instead, the tiny columns of laser light travel through your skin, heating cells below the surface and triggering collagen production.
The other wavelength is only absorbed by discolored areas on the surface of your skin, such as age spots. The cells in the discoloration break down as they absorb the laser’s heat. Your body gradually clears the waste away, getting rid of the blemish.
